A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries Saturday evening in Garden Grove in a collision with a van.

According to the GGPD, the crash took place around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Haster Street and Lampson Avenue in the eastern area of the city.

Arriving officers found the cyclist unresponsive and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics at the scene pronounced the cyclist dead.

The investigation that followed indicated the driver of the van made “an unsafe turning movement” in front of the motorcycle, causing the collision.  The Orange County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be a factor in the collision and the investigation is continuing.

  1. Always sad. Not the first time there. At 630, if the van was traveling west on Lampson, sun in eyes, maybe?.

Prayers for the biker. And his shocked family. So sad.
