More housing for residents, more parking for park-goers and more money for city coffers.
Those were among the results from Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.
On 5-0 votes, the council approved:
- a lease with the Fernwood Mobile Home Park for the use of land adjacent to Stanton Central Park for additional parking for public recreation uses;
- a development agreement and site plan, etc. for the construction of 36 single-family condominiums in a project at Western Avenue and Katella Avenue;
- the city’s plan for the use of $4,561,830 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the latter action, the money allocated from the federal government through ARPA can be used to support public health expenditures, address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency, provide premium pay for essential workers and invest in water, sewer and broadband infrastructure.
