
A VETERANS’ DAY event is planned for Nov. 6 in Garden Grove (Shutterstock).
A Veterans’ Day Community event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge Park, 11551 Trask Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be food, entertainment, a Kids Zone and resources for active military and veterans.

The annual Great American Air Show will be held Friday through Sunday (Oct. 1-3) at Huntington Beach. The event will feature three jet teams representing two nations; U.S. Thunderbirds, U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Canadian Forces Snowbirds doing aerial acrobatics.
It’s free to the public, but if you want special seating, there are options ranging from $25 to $2,950. In addition to the aerial fun, there will be a boat race from Huntington Beach to Catalina and back from 6:30 to 9 a.m.
Musical entertainment – the Afterburner Special – will include Sammy Hagar and The Circle on Friday, Sam Hunt and X Ambassadors on Saturday. For information on tickets and more, go to surfcityusa.com .

The School Resource Officers of the Garden Grove Police Department, upon learning that Evans Elementary School in Garden Grove was “missing some tricycles,” they delivered the cycles and “a few extra goodies” back to the kindergarteners this week.
Authorities have identified the man fatally shot by Huntington Beach police last Saturday near the city pier. According to the Orange County Coroner, he is Ronnie Garcia, 43. No address was given.
A month-long “Howl-O-Ween” celebration is being planned by the Great Wolf Lodge in Garden Grove throughout October. There will be a Trick Or Treat Trail for the collection of candy throughout the lodge, as well as a Monster Bash Dance Party, UnBOOlievable Story Time and Grab N Go Arts and Crafts.
