A MAN WAS fatally shot in Santa Ana early Thursday morning (Shutterstock).

Santa Ana police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Thursday (today) morning.

According to the SAPD, a report was received at 2:48 a.m. of a man shot in the 800 south block of Minnie Street. Arriving officers found a man on the east sidewalk, unresponsive and with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics at the scene pronounced the man dead at 3:02 a.m.

Circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation. The victim’s identity is unknown pending the result of efforts by the Orange County Coroner’s office. Detectives are seeking to identify and locate witnesses who can shed light on the incident.
