
A FEMALE pedestrian was fatally struck by a car while walking in Huntington Beach on Monday evening (Shutterstock).
A female pedestrian was fatally injured Monday evening when struck by a truck in Huntington Beach.
According to Jennifer Carey, public information officer, the incident took place in the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Yorktown Avenue. Officers were called to the scene at around 6:20 p.m. and found the female deceased in the roadway.
Her identity and other details about her were not immediately available.
The driver of the truck, a white Chevrolet Silverado, was a 58-year-old Garden Grove resident. He remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision.
Police believe that the Silverado was traveling northbound on Beach and struck the pedestrian crossing eastbound on Yorktown Avenue.
