Confirmed new cases of coronavirus dropped sharply in the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Tuesday report.
According to the OCHCA, the latest daily count is 121 cases, down from Monday’s three-day average of 314.33. Deaths also declined, going from five to three. Hospitalizations also fell, ticking down to 126 to 125.
However, the number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units edged up from 24 to 25.
To date, Orange County has had 545,908 cases, of which 534,802 are considered recovered. The total of deaths is 6,846.
Across the nation, The New York Times is reporting that – over a 14-day period – new cases are down 29 percent and deaths down 27 percent. In California, Los Angeles Times reports a 19 percent decline in new cases and a 40 percent decrease in deaths.
