Pacifica High’s softball team rallied to catch and defeat La Habra High 3-2 in eight innings Friday afternoon at the Mariner diamond.

The Highlanders scored twice in the third to take a 2-0 lead, but the hosts responded with two of their own to knot the game up and eventually send it into extra innings in the non-league contest.

Pacifica is now 15-3 and ranked seventh in CIF-SS Division 1. The Mariners are next in action on Tuesday in their Empire League opener against the Crean Lutheran (0-8) Saints of Irvine. La Habra, ranked eighth in Division 2, is now 7-6. The team will start Freeway League play on Tuesday against Sunny Hills.
