Video cameras on the alley east of Main Street in downtown Garden Grove spotted a red sedan pull up to a trash container behind a row of stores and offices on April 6 at 2:20 p.m.

A man got out of the vehicle and dumped a large pile of mail into the receptacle. The vehicle then departed.

Mail theft is a practice in which people search for credit cards, checks or information useful in identity theft.
