At around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of N. Ross St., regarding a woman who said she had been kidnapped and raped. She said she was standing in front of her complex when approached by Garcia, who asked for directions to a nearby gasoline station.

As she began to give directions, the suspect allegedly covered the victim’s mouth and then picked her up and carried her to a nearby vacant house.

Despite her screams and attempts to fight back, she was sexually assaulted. She eventually was able to escape, running home and calling police. She then directed officers to the house where the assault had taken place.

They found Garcia inside and arrested him.

Anyone with information about other incidents and/or victims is asked to contact Detective Jorge Garcia at (714) 245-8732 or via e-mail at jgarcia@santa-ana.org .
