Three budget hearings held

THREE AREA school boards will be holding public hearings on proposed budgets for 2022-23 (Shutterstock).

Three local public school district boards have meetings this week, and all include public hearings on proposed budgets for the 2022-23 school year.

Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education’s regular board meeting starts at 7 p.m. at 10331 Stanford Ave. Several public hearings are scheduled, including one on the proposed budget for the coming year.

Other public hearing items include initial contract proposals from the Garden Grove Education Association (teachers and other faculty) and the Garden Grove Pupil Personnel Services Association (counselors, psychologists, etc.).

The GGUSD serves most of Garden Grove and parts of Anaheim, Cypress, FountainValley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.

Huntington Beach Union High School District Board of Trustees meets at 6 p.m. on Monday (today) at 5832 Bolsa Ave., Huntington Beach.

A staff presentation on the proposed budget will be followed by a public hearing.

The HBUSD serves Huntington Beach and parts of Fountain Valley and Westminster.

Westminster School District Board of Trustees meets Thursday at 7 p.m. at 14121 Cedarwood St., Westminster. A public hearing on WSD’s proposed budget will be held.

The WSD is a K-8 district that serves most of Westminster, Midway City and parts of Garden Grove and Huntington Beach.
