At a Middle East summit in Saudi Arabia, President Joe Biden assured regional leaders that the U.S would continue to play a powerful role in that area.

According to United Press International, Biden on Saturday told them the U.S. would donate $1 billion for food security assistance to alleviate hunger in the Middle East and North Africa, a problem increased by the effect of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He also called for stronger guarantees for human right and voiced his support for a cease-fire in the civil war in Yemen. Earlier in the week he spoke in favor of a Palestinian state.

Voting fraud claims within the GOP

Former president Donald Trump’s unsupported claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election are finding imitation in primary elections, pitting Republican against Republican.

According to The Associated Press, increasing numbers of losing candidates for state office are claiming they were cheated out of their victories. Some even predicted a stolen election before votes were cast.

One candidate who polled just 3 percent of the vote in the Colorado GOP governor’s race claimed widespread cheating. Another candidate, who lost the Republican nomination for governor in Nevada by 26,000 votes, complained he was the victim of election fraud.
