A car bomb has killed the daughter of a major ally of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

According to The Associated Press, Daria Dugina, 29, a TV commentator, perished in the explosion in the sport utility vehicle she was driving Saturday night.

No one claimed responsibility, although there is suspicion that the intended target was Alexander Dugin, her father. He is a strong supporter of Putin and has advocated for a more powerful Russian state and the invasion of Ukraine.

Pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine claimed that Ukraine was behind the attack, while the Ukrainian government denied the accusation, with “We are not a criminal state, unlike Russia, and defnitely not a terrorist state.”

Graham testimony blocked, for now

SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-S.C.).

The testimony of Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-South Carolina) before a grand jury on efforts by former president Donald Trump and supporters to interfere with the 2020 election was temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court on Sunday.

The New York Times is reporting that the court told a lower court to decide whether Graham can be compelled to testify, as he may be shielded by his position as a member of Congress.

His testimony was sought as a witness, not a suspect, in the alleged attempt to illegally influence the results of the 2020 general election in Georgia, where Joe Biden was the narrow winner.
