Bey leads Argos to 20-0 win

Garden Grove’s big play offense stuck to the script and defeated Torrance High 20-0 on Friday night at Monsoor Stadium.

The Argonauts improved to 5-0 as Malachi Bey had another stellar night, scoring two touchdowns.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Argonauts struck. Bey ran for 64 yards to set up the red-and-white deep in Tartar territory.

Three plays later, Bey blasted into the end zone on a 8-yard scoring run. He added to his resume with 36-yard TD romp in the third quarter for a 14-0 Grove lead.

The Argonauts completed the scoring with seven minutes to go in the game when quarterback Branden Roth connected with Dominick Brito for a touchdown and a 20-0 final score.

Grove will be in action next Thursday against Western (3-1). Torrance (1-4) will play Lawndale on Sept. 30.

In a clash of two of the top-rated unbeaten (4-0) teams, Edison outlasted San Clemente 21-16.
