Three presidents are campaigning for candidates in crucial election today (Saturday).
United Press International reports that former president Barack Obama is in Pennsylvania in support of Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, the Democratic candidate for an open U.S. Senate seat.
President Joe Biden is expected to make a joint appearance with Obama to benefit Fetterman.
His Republican rival, Mehmet Oz, will get help today in the Keystone State from former president Donald Trump.
Democrats are hoping that a win here would boost their chances of getting a majority in the Senate.
Barrett: no to loan forgiveness challenge
Another challenge to President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness program was turned aside by Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
USA Today reports that a conservative legal group filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court to block the program. Barrett, an appointee of former president Donald Trump, denied the appeal without comment.
When the full court is not in session, associate justices handle emergency appeals based on geography.
