13 new homes considered

A public hearing on a proposed 13-unit two-story housing project goes before the Garden Grove Planning Commission when it meets on Thursday, Dec 1.

The applicant, PLC Garden Grove LLC, is seeking to create a planned unit dcvelopment at 9071, 9081 and 9091 Lampson Avenue between Loraleen Street and Magnolia Street.

According to the staff report this project, consisting of five- bedroom homes, is to replace three houses formerly on that location which have been demolished.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. in Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.

Revised cannabis rules OKd

An amended version of an earlier ordinance that authorized the legal sale of cannabis products in Stanton was approved for first reading by the city council on 5-0 vote Tuesday night.

Second reading and adoption of the ordinance will be considered at the Dec. 13 meeting.

Man dead in hit-and-ran accident

The public’s help is being sought in finding the driver of a truck that fatally struck a pedestrian in Anaheim on Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol states that Rick Dale Moore, 30, of Long Beach was in a marked crosswalk at Magnolia Street and Katella Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck “speeding” east on Katella.

According to the CHP, the truck continued on. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck is described as a dark late-model vehicle  – perhaps a Chevrolet – likely to have front-end damage. Anyone who saw the incident or has other relevant information is asked to call (714) 892-4426.
