Zelenskyy coming to U.S.

Making his first trip outside of his country, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Washington on Wednesday. He will meet with President Joe Biden and address Congress, according to the Associated Press.

The visit will be taking place just as Congress prepares to vote on the end-of-the-year budget, which includes an estimated $45 billion in aid to Ukraine.

Additionally, the U.S. is planning to ship Patriot anti-missile batteries to Ukraine, which is being bombarded by Russian missiles and drones aimed at infrastructure such as energy and heating.

Trump tax returns to be released

The Ways and Means Committee of the House of Representatives will released six years of former president Donald Trump’s income tax returns, according to The New York Times.

The Times also reported that Democrats are saying that the Internal Revenue Service violated its own policy by not auditing the first two years of Trump’s term.  

Ex-cop sentenced in fatal shooting

Aaron Dean, a White police officer in Fort Worth, Texas was sentenced on Tuesday to nearly 11 years and 10 months in prison for the 2019 fatal shooting of Atatiana Jefferson, 28, a Black woman.

Dean shot her through the window of her home, according to USA Today, by the officer as he was responding to a call of a neighbor about an open front door.

Weather: Summer’s reruns in West OC

It was a fairly mild summer in the West Orange County area, and now it’s been a fairly mild autumn and winter. For the forecast for the week ahead is daytime highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the mid- to-high 40s.

Wednesday should be sunny with a daytime high of 74 and an overnight low of 46. Thursday will be a bit cooler at 70 (46) with partly cloudy conditions. Friday should also be partly cloudy with 70 the daytime high and 49 the overnight low.
