Interest rates going up again

ANOTHER INTEREST rate hike is coming (Shutterstock).

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised interest rates to 5.25 percent, up from 5 percent, in an attempt to tame inflation.

According to The New York Times, it was the 10th straight increase, and the new rate is the highest since 2007.

Typically, interest rate increases are intended to cool down a too-hot economy by making the purchases of goods and services more expensive. But some economists suggest it could make inflation worse as businesses could simply pass the costs of borrowing onto consumers.

He struck out 13 batters in five innings, but also yielded five hits and four earned runs and two homers.

But the Angel hitters saved the day with three ninth-inning home runs by Mike Trout, Jake Lamb and Brandon Drury. Ohtani had a good day at the plate, too, going 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored.

With the win, the Angels have three victories in a row and are 17-14 and in second place in the American League West.

The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled to their sixth straight win Thursday, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 10-6 with six runs in the last two innings. The key hit was Max Muncy’s walkoff grand slam in the ninth inning.

Now 19-13, the Blue Crew leads the National League West by 1.5 games over the Arizona Diamondbacks,
