Joe Hammer and Andrea Perez have been chosen as the 2023-2024 Garden Grove Chamber of  Commerce Man and Woman of the Year.

They will be honored at the 116th Annual Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce Gala Dinner and Awards on Friday, Aug. 25 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites.

Hammer, 93, has been involved in the community in many ways and venues including the Rotary Club, the military (Air Force and National Guard), chamber of commerce and others.

He started his own moving and storage business in 1980 in Anaheim, moving it to Garden Grove in 1995.

Perez is the immediate past president of the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Association. has been a city commissioner and involved in many other community service projects.

She works in the library at Garden Park Elementary School, a part of the Garden Grove Unified School District.
