New cases declined slightly

CORONAVIRUS numbers in Orange County in this week’s report show a slight decrease in confirmed new cases (Shutterstock).

New cases of coronavirus in Orange County declined slightly in statistics released this week by the county health care agency.

Data for the week ending Wednesday showed 522 new confirmed cases, down from 528 last week but up from 371 the week before.

Deaths increased sharply, although the total amount is low by historical standards. This week’s tally was 10, compared to one the week before and seven the week before that.

To date, Orange County has had 727,217 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Deaths now total 8,243.
