A 26-year-old Huntington Beach man was arrested Friday in connection with shots being fired in the air in or around the vicinity of Golden West College.

According to Jessica Cuchilla, public information officer for the HBPD, Wednesday, HBPD officers responded to a call of shots heard near GWC at around 2:30 p.m. Arriving units contacted a witness parked in a lot adjacent to the school, and told of a suspect “acting suspiciously” and firing a single shot in the air.

No suspect was located at the time but a description of the person and his vehicle were obtained and additional security measures were taken.

On Friday officers responded to a parking structure in the 7500 block of Edinger Avenue regarding a suspicious subject walking around with a gun. Arriving officers found a man and a vehicle that matched the description given them on Wednesday.

A search of his vehicle and his residence turned up evidence linking him to the shooting. The man – identified as Talon Brunelle – was arrested for discharging a firearm in a school zone, possessing a gun by an adddict and willful discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner.
