A man suspected of “pistol-whipping” another man was arrested Friday night by Garden Grove police.
The incident took place in the area of Beach and Garden Grove boulevards. Patrolling officers were flagged down at 9:27 p.m. by a man bleeding from the head. He told them the person who had assaulted him was hiding in a motel room at the Garden Grove Inn.
Police surrounded the area, and using the “Bearcat” vehicle as cover, took the suspect into custody without incident. During a search of the room, officers found a black semiautomatic pistol without a serial number.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect has been booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on a variety of charges.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the GGPD at (714) 741-5704.
