A proposed increase in trash pickup rates for residents is on the agenda for Tuesday night’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.

CR&R, the company that handles the collection and recycling of trash is requesting more money from the City of Stanton to account for the increased cost of complying with certain new organic waste mandates. \

The city council is conducting a public hearing to accept protests from residents who are against the increased rates.

The resolution would, if approved and adopted by the City Council, implement these rate increases (proposed 3.5% for single family residential customers and 8.3% for commercial customers).

The council will meet at 5:30 p.m. in its council chambers at 7800 Katella Ave. (west of Beach Boulevard).
