Patti Widdicombe, owner and operator of Widdicombe Enterprises which operates several McDonald’s restaurants in the city, will be honored in the community spotlight at Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.
The Widdicombe family opened the first McDonald’s in Orange County on Harbor Boulevard. It still operates on that site and is believed to be the third-oldest McDonald’s restaurant in the United States.
She is being honored for “her valued service and support to the Garden Grove community” through those eateries.
Also on a light agenda is a suggestion by Mayor Pro Tem George Brietigam (District 1) to name the decorative bridge in the Civic Center Park after GGPD Corporal Han Cho, who died recently in traffic accident.
The council will meet in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave., at 6:30 p.m.
