Argos lose 42-7 to Breakers

In its final game before beginning league play next week, the Garden Grove High School football scored first and then yielded six touchdowns in losing 42-7 to Laguna Beach (6-1) on Thursday night at Monsoor Stadium.

The Argonauts are now 2-5, but can begin to redeem the season when it opens its defense of the Big Four League title visiting Marina (3-4) at Boswell Field on Friday, Oct. 13.

Western (6-1, 2-0) won its second Orange League game with a 52-7 win over Savanna (0-7, 0-2). The victory over the Rebels was the Pioneers’ sixth straight win after losing its season opener to Los Alamitos 63-25.

Orange (3-4, 2-1) defeated Calvary Chapel/Santa Ana by 56-29 in a high-scoring Orange Coast League battle on Thursday.

In a key Garden Grove League battle, Los Amigos edged Rancho Alamitos 13-12 on Thursday night. The Lobos are now 3-4 overall and 1-1 in GGL play. The Vaqueros are 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league.
