New cases, deaths declining

CORONAVIRUS numbers in Orange County in this week’s report a decrease in confirmed new cases and deaths (Shutterstock).

The number of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Orange County reported this week continues to be in free fall.

Statistics released by Orange County Health Care Agency show 387 new cases, down from 515 on Oct. 25 and 530 on Oct. 18. That contrasts with 1, 706 six weeks ago.

Deaths declined to 15 this week, down from 16 last week and 19 the week before. Hospitalizations are at 53, a steep drop from 102 on Oct. 25 and 80 on Oct. 18.

To date, Orange County has had 740,718 confirmed cases and 8,411 deaths.
