A Garden Grove man has been arrested for a series of “porch pirate” thefts in Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove and Westminster.
Taken into custody in Anaheim was Dung Van, who has been charged with multiple charges of grand theft.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, about seven incidents of package thefts have been reported in that city. The suspect would take a package from a victim’s doorstep and often replace it with an empty box. Some of the thefts were captured on home surveillance systems.
Van is suspected of thefts in four cities and has been linked to 12 open theft cases.
Residents are reminded to be alert for such thefts and report suspicious activities in their neighborhood.
