Off-year elections were held across the U.S. on Tuesday that may hold some clues to the 2024 voting.

Being watched especially closely were:

  • Ohio’s ballot measure that would place abortion rights in the state constitution: Approved by voters with 55.8 percent “yes.”
  • The governor’s race in conservative Kentucky was won by Democratic incumbent Andrew Beshear 53 percent to Republican challenger Daniel Cameron with 47.5 percent.
  • Control of the Virginia state legislature was won by Democrats.
  • Other races include a marijuana legalization initiative (approved 56.4 percent to 43.6 percent) in Ohio and a governor’s race in Mississippi (won by Republican incumbent Tate Reeves over Democratic challenger Brandon Presley (52.3 percent to 45.8 percent).

Rams sign Carson Wentz as QB

With injured Matthew Stafford still an unknown, and Brett Rypien performing poorly against Green Bay on Sunday, the Rams organization has reportedly signed up Carson Wentz.

Wentz has played for five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders in a career that started well in 2017 but which has been hampered since by injuries.

The Rams are 3-6 so far in 2023 and have lost three games in a row, including Sunday’s 22-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Weather: Sunny day(s) are here again
