CORONAVIRUS numbers in Orange County in this week’s report an increase in confirmed new cases for the second week straight (Shutterstock).

The number of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Orange County has risen for the second consecutive week.

According to the county health care agency, the latest count of new cases – posted on Thursday – is 523, up from 487 last week and 387 the week before.

Deaths, however, fell to eight from 13 and is the lowest number in a month. Hospitalizations connected to the coronavirus declined this week to 58 from 102  last week.

The current number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units is four.
