Dog rescued from house fire

OCFA FIREFIGHTERS rescued this dog from a house fire in Garden Grove on Saturday night (OCFA).

A fire at a home in Garden Grove on Saturday night sent a resident to the hospital, while firefighters rescued the dog. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the incident was in the 8800 block of Aberdeen Lane northwest of Magnolia Street and Chapman Avenue.

A 911 call at 7:38 p.m. sent OCFA crews to the scene, where flames were blowing out of the garage of the affected home. An adult resident of the home had suffered severe burns, a dog was running back into the home and the “fire quickly extended.”

The burn victim was quickly treated and transported to a local hospital and firefighters rescued the dog from inside the home. It took 16 minutes to knock down the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Garden Grove police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue assisted in the operation.
