A 29-year-old Huntington Beach man is in custody, charged with a fatal stabbing in Long Beach on Sunday.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the suspect is Brandon Nguyen. He was booked on a murder charge and is being held without bail.

The victim is a 20-year-old Long Beach resident; his identity is being withheld pending positive identification.

Police say the stabbing took place at an eatery in Belmont Shore on 2nd Street. Homicide detectives used security camera footage and the assistance of business operators and members of the community to identify the suspect. He was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, then taken to the Long Beach City Jail.

A search warrant was later served on his home.
