A Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion program is being launched at Westminster High School in partnership with the Westminster School District creating what will be the first preschool-12th grade program of its kind in the nation.

It will integrate native Vietnamese-speaking  and English-speaking students in the same classroom and provide academic instruction in both languages.  The starting point will be at DeMille Elementary Elementary School moving to Warner Middle School and on to WHS.

“It is an honor to support the exceptional opportunities that have been developed in cooperation with [WSD] and the Huntington Beach Union High School District,” said WSD Principal Amy Sabol. “I am confident that our students will flourish …and continue to make meaningful contributions within our community for generations to come.”

The program will commence with the 2024-25 school year and will include not only college prep, academic placement, etc. but also VDLI classes designed to “emphasize college readiness and foster cultural competence in leadership roles.”
