The Los Angeles Angels suffered their fourth loss in five games on Tuesday, falling 6-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays while the Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the Brewers 7-2 in Milwaukee.
In Anaheim, the Halos (52-68) were held scoreless until the bottom of the ninth when they finally broke the shutout with Willie Calhoun’s home run.
Both teams had seven hits, but the Orange County team was 0-for 6 with runners in scoring position while the Blue Jays (56-64) were 3-for-6, including two home runs.
The two teams will wind up their series on Wednesday.
Will Smith had three hits, including a home run in the Blue Crew’s victory in Wisconsin. The team launched four homers – one each by Smith, Shohei Ohtani, Gavin Lux and Andy Pages.
Gavin Stone (10-5) pitched five strong innings, yielding three hits and one run. He struck out six batters and walked just one.
The Dodgers (71-49) and the Brewers (67-52) will finish the series on Wednesday.
