The prohibition of short-term rentals and bed and breakfast inns through the city will be considered by the Stanton Planning Commission when it meets next Wednesday.

A public hearing will be held to consider a zoning code amendment which would bar such businesses in residential and mixed-use overlay zones.

A staff report states that “the city has received complaints about residents leasing their properties to travelers for short-term or vacation rentals.” Such businesses – residents complain – are responsible for “excessive noise, parking problems and trash.”

The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
