PARENTS, friends, players and volunteers from The Home Depot in Stanton recently renovated the snack bar for the Central Garden Grove Little League at Hare School Park on Chapman Avenue, just east of Magnolia Street in Garden Grove.
The Central Garden Grove Little League will this spring be celebrating its 70th anniversary and the community has come together to give it a much-needed gift.
With assistance from the Home Depot store in Stanton, the snack bar at the Hare School Park, home of the CGGLL, has been renovated and updated.
“This will make the experience better for all of our players and families,” said Greg Pruitt, CGGLL president. After so much use, it was clear the snack bar needed repairs. Understanding how important it is to our community, the Home Depot stepped in to help.
“They provided materials and volunteers to transform our aging snack bar into a modern, welcoming space. We’ve updated the appliances, added a fresh coat of paint and made it more functional and visually appealing.
“As we look ahead to this big milestone, our newly-renovated snack bar stands as a symbol of our community’s enduring spirit and commitment to our youth,” said Pruitt.
But, of course, the business of fund-raising is never-ending, especially as a means of providing uniforms and equipment to disadvantaged children.
There will be such an event at the Shakey’s Pizza at 12540 Valley View St. in West Garden Grove at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and another at the Red Robin restaurant at Chapman Avenue and Harbor Boulevard in Garden Grove on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
