Visitors to the Huntington Beach Pier will have a new choice of places to eat a hamburger or have a glass of beer,
On Tuesday night, the city council voted 7-0 to approve an agreement with Surf City Partners, LLC lease to existing city property for the remodel and new construction of an eating and drinking establishment at 21 and 22 Main Street with alcohol sales and outdoor dining.
Named “Huntington’s,” the project by Surf City Partners LLC will include a new restaurant/bar with outdoor seating and a walk-up window.
The project will consist of two buildings: one a relocated bait-and-tackle shop with remodeled public restrooms and a new storage area; the other a 220-square foot addition to an existing building allowing for a total occupancy of 75 at the planned restaurant and bar.
Also on Tuesday night, City Attorney Michael Gates told the council that the State of California’s lawsuit against the city for failing to file a required housing element has been stayed until March 2025.
The next city council meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15.
