The last day of campaigning for the offices of president and vice president, Congress and thousands of state and local offices is winding up.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat) and former president Donald Trump (Republican) spent the day seeking votes in swing states.

Harris spent the day in Pennsylvania, visiting working class areas including Allentown, according to the Associated Press. She’s finishing the day in Philadelphia with a late-night rally that includes Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey.

Trump traveled to four rallies in three states – North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan..
Other election news items of note:

• An estimated 77 million Americans have already voted. North Carolina leads the list with 57 percent of its voters having already cast their ballots.

• Cedric the Entertainer has endorsed Harris; podcaster Joe Rogan has endorsed Trump;

• A sheriff’s patrol commander in Ohio has apologized for Facebook comments in which he vowed not to aid Democrats who needed help. Lt. John Rodgers of Cork County wrote “I am sorry. If you support the Democrat Party I will not help you.” He retracted his comments blaming them on sleep aids that caused him to act “out of character.”

Sports: NBA, NHL take over

With the Major League Baseball season over, much of the focus turns to the winter sports of basketball and ice hockey.
Tonight (Monday), the Lakers are in Detroit and the Clippers are hosting the San Antonio Spurs. The Kings are in Nashville.

Weather: Staying the course

If you like routines, you’ll love the weather in out West Orange County cities for the next few days. Daytime highs will be 74 through Friday, with the exception of 76 on Wednesday. The skies will be mostly sunny on Tuesday, then partly cloudy on Wednesday, and then sunny on Thursday and Friday.
