Are rents too high for mobile home residents? Should a city seek to put a lid on what landlords can charge?

On Tuesday the Stanton City Council agreed to open an inquiry into the topic. Councilmember Donald Torres suggested that the issue be considered and it was agreed to bring before the council at a later meeting for review and discussion the existing ordinances of Anaheim and San Juan Capistrano.

In other action, the council:
• approved an ordinance banning the sale of flavored tobacco by tobacco retailers in the city;
• approved an ordinance establishing a ban on short-term rentals citywide and on bed and breakfast establishments in residential mixed-use areas.
