Sometimes one task can turn into two.

Firefighters battling a flatbed tractor trailer fire in Garden Grove a few minutes after 1 p.m. on Sunday noticed a fire from the roof of a warehouse.

The Orange County Fire Authority quickly shifted gears and started a structure fire response. There was heavy fire inside the warehouse at 13901 Seaboard Circle (northwest of Westminster Avenue and Harbor Boulevard) with downed wires, and an air conditioning unit collapsing through the roof, so the incident commander started a second alarm, summoning more help.

Crews were then able to knock down the fire in about one hour, saving the office space and limiting the spread of the blaze. There were no injuries.

The OCFA’s heavy equipment operators then used a “skid steer” device to clear out debris and make sure there was no hidden fire.
