Garden Grove police believe they may have solved a string of armed robberies recently occurring in and around the city.
According to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the GGPD, David Zamarripa, 52, of Garden Grove has been arrested in connection with multiple robberies having occurred from Jan. 2 to 18.
Over a two-week period, detectives investigating such robberies noticed “similar circumstances” and cross-referenced five of them in an effort to identify a single suspect.
With information from witnesses, surveillance and help from other law enforcement agencies, GGPD detectives learned about three similar incidents in Orange County, making a total of eight robberies.
Detectives tracked the suspect and detained him as he attempted to leave a motel in Garden Grove. He was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.
