In the wake of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, how safe are we from man-made disasters?

Mayor David Shawver asked that question about Stanton at the Jan. 24 council meting and there will be a discussion at Tuesday’s meeting about issues such as evacuation plans and presentation of resources as provided by the Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting is a proposal to re-name two city parks. Councilmember John Warren is proposing to change Zuniga Park to Victor Zuniga Park and Stanton Park to Philip Stanton Park.

Additionally, there’s a discussion planned regarding a review of the city’s current codes relating to fencing requirements and setbacks within the city.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic Center at 7800 Katella Ave.
