TEN LOCAL teams will be in the CIF-SS boys’ volleyball playoffs starting this week (Shutterstock).

he 2025 CIF-SS boys’ volleyball playoffs will start on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30.

Five local teams are seeded in their division in the tournament which will conclude on May 16 and 17.

The seeded teams are Huntington Beach (second in Division 1), Rancho Alamitos (second in Division 5, La Quinta (fourth in Division 6), Ocean View (first in Division 7) and Garden Grove (second in Division 7).

A total of 10 local teams are in the playoffs. Their first round pairings include:
• Division 1: Huntington Beach will open pool play against Newport Harbor on April 30.
• Division 2: Edison at San Juan Hills (4-30).
• Division 4: Downey at Western (4-30).
• Division 5: Torrance at Bolsa Grande, Flintridge Prep at Rancho Alamitos (both 4-29)
• Division 6: Salesian at La Quinta (4-30).
• Division 7: Palmdale Aerospace at Ocean View, Eastside at Garden Grove (both 4-29).
• Division 8: Los Amigos at Carpinteria, Lynwood at Magnolia (both 4-30).
