Angels blank Yankees; Dodgers defeat the San DiegoPadres

ANGELS shutout the Yankees and Andy Pages starred for the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Angels may be in fourth place in the American League West, but for two games in a row they have been better than the first place team in the American League East.

With a 4-0 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night, the Halos have won the first two games of a three-game set in the Bronx and outscored them 5-0 overall.

Kyle Hendricks (5-6) pitched six strong innings for the Orange County team, yielding four hits and striking out nine batters while walking one.

The Angels had eight hits, with Zach Neo and Luis Rengifo each getting two. Taylor Ward drove in two runs.
With the win, the Angels are 35-37 and moved to within a half-game of the third place Texas Rangers in the AL West.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took on the San Diego Padres and a five-run sixth-inning outburst carried the Blue Crew to an 8-6 win at home.

Andy Pages had an outstanding day at bat, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. He homered twice.
Will Smith also went deep en route to a 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs.

The Dodgers are 45-29 and lead the National League West by 3.5 games.
