A labor dispute is causing disruption of trash pickup across Orange County and two cities in The Tribune’s coverage area.
Interruption of service comes as union sanitation workers for Republic Services are honoring picket lines in support of their colleagues in Boston.
As a result, temporary refuse collection sites were set up on Friday and are expected to continue until the issue is settled. Affected is pickup in Garden Grove and Huntington Beach, as well as Anaheim, Santa Ana, Fullerton and other cities.
Trash pickup in Westminster is provided by CR&R Environmental Services.
“Makeup” collections will be provided as resources become available.
For the list of temporary Garden Grove trash collection sites, go to: https://geonode.ggcity.org/catalogue/#/map/206.
In Huntington Beach, bagged trash can be dropped off at Republic Services 17121 Nichols Lane in Huntington Beach.
