New medical office building is proposed for Town Center

A step toward what might be the long-sought establishment of a “downtown” for Stanton may be taken at the meeting of the Stanton Planning Commission on Wednesday, July 16.

The panel will hold a public hearing on a site plan, conditional use permit and more to create a new medical office building at 10692 Beach Blvd, between Main Street to the north and Pacific Avenue to the south.

If approved, the project would consolidate three parcels into one and result in the creation of a new 2,859-square foot medical building in the Town Center Specific Plan mixed-use district.

Stanton’s original central business district – dating back to the area’s past as the village of Benedict – was in that area but changing economic transportation patterns generally meant that much of the property fell into less-active uses.

The medical building would be known as Santa Marya Family Medical.

The commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave. (west of Beach Boulevard).
