AN investigation into the fatal shooting of a youth in Stanton continues (Shutterstock).

The investigation is continuing into the fatal shooting of one youth and the critical wounding of another in Stanton on July 5.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department – which provides police services to Stanton – the incident took place shortly before 2 p.m. in the 11000 block of Court Street, northeast of Beach Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue.

Callers to 9-1-1 reported a shooting in which two male juveniles suffered gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, identified as Samuel Louie Vidal, 15, of San Bernardino, was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The second victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
