A working smoke alarm – and the quick work of firefighters – are credited with the escape from the flames of residents at their Garden Grove apartments.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority, a fire in a two-story apartment complex in the 10600 block of Dorothy Avenue was reported shortly before 3 a.m. on July 30.
Firefighters from Engine 80 and additional units arrived to find a “well-established” fire in one unit that was quickly extending to another.
Firefighters were able to stop the blaze from expanding to other units and to confirm that all units were safely evacuated.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately determined. Help was provided by the Garden Grove Police Department and the Anaheim Fire and Rescue.
