An armed robbery at a taco stand in Westminster on Nov. 9, 2024 remained unsolved until Thursday when police arrested two suspects.
According to Commander Andy Stowers of the WPD, two men were taken into custody.
Joseph Mariscal, 31, of mWestminster and Jonathan Mariscal, 26, of Westminster are each charged with attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism.
The incident occurred in the area of Goldenwest Street and Westminster Boulevard regarding a robbery attempt in which an AR-15 style rifle was used.
The suspects allegedly approached two victims who were working at a taco stand with the rifle and pointed it at them.
The suspects are accused of demanding money and kicking over the taco stand, doing $1500 in damage.
After a long investigation, detectives identified the suspects and served a search warrant on Aug. 28, 2025. Both suspects were found, along with two replica AR-15 style rifles, a replica firearm and “a substantial amount of illegal narcotics.”
