An ordinance changing the land use codes governing substance abuse centers was approved by the Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday night.
It was the second vote after the ordinance was introduced on Sept. 23. This vote was 7-0.
The regulations have been substantially amended to curb abuses and reduce complaints that surround some centers near to residential and commercial districts.
Among the changes in the revised ordinance are requirements that such centers can’t be considered medical, dental or related health services support operations and can’t be considered a prescription pharmacy.
