Chargers burned by Diablos

Edison High’s hopes for a Alpha League title went to the devil Friday night. That is, the Chargers lost 37-20 to the Diablos.
The green-and-gold (54 overall and 0-2 in league) fell behind 30-6 at one point before rallying late for a respectable final score.

The Charger quarterback Sam Thomson threw touchdown passes to Brennan Vares and Matthew Luau.
EHS will close out its regular season schedule next Friday against San Clemente (5-4, 1-1).

In an Epsilon League crucial, Huntington Beach lost a close one to Crean Lutheran, 31-28. The Oilers are 7-2 overall and 3-1 in league. Crean is 9-0 and 4-0. The Oilers will close out the schedule against El Dorado (4-5, 1-3).

On Thursday, in Delta League play, Tustin outlasted Western 42-21.
The game was tied 14-all at the half, but the Tillers pulled away after that, outscoring the Pioneers 28-7 the rest of the way,
Western is now 5-4 overall and 1-3 in league.

St. Margaret’s rolled past Garden Grove 35-7 in a Kappa League contest. Quentin Pacelli was back in the lineup against the Tartans but he rushed for a relatively modest 173 yards and the Argonauts’ lone score.
Calvin Keovphan passed for 52 yards and was intercepted three times. Grove is 2-7 overall.On Thursday,
