Two women believed to have jumped off the Huntington Beach city pier into the ocean were rescued Tuesday morning.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place around 9:30 a.m. Police, fire personnel and the marine safety division responded to reports of “two women in distress in the water.”
Huntington Beach lifeguards rescued the women and brought them to shore. From there, they were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
Detectives from the HBPD came to the scene and their preliminary investigation indicates that both women jumped from the pier into the ocean.

My now-deceased former Mother-in-Law jumped off the end of the HB pier when she was 15. That was in 1946.
